Housing market forecast 2021: What can buyers expect?

The property market remained remarkably strong and resilient throughout last year, despite the challenges of the pandemic. Historically low-interest rates, the release of pent-up demand after Brexit and the Stamp Duty Holiday pushed house prices up by an astonishing 8.5% according to a recent BBC News article. 
 

So what property market insights can we share as 2021 gets underway? The end of the Help to Buy scheme (for everyone but first-time buyers) and the March Stamp Duty Holiday deadline will inevitably result in some market cooling. Property nevertheless remains an excellent prospect for investors. This year Rightmove forecasts a 4% average increase in property prices across the UK.
